Ethics: Network participants are motivated by the goal of equitable social and economic benefits to all. We commit to maintaining a high ethical standard with guardrails built for how our tools are used to better the world.

Emergent strategy: We value an emergent approach towards finding solutions to the world’s key challenges. Rather than a top-down approach saying what real impact is, we’re building a grassroots ecosystem to enable bottom-up solutioning to solve the world's biggest problems.

Real human connection: Our tools incentivize real world action and connection, enabling users to find their community by contributing to issue areas they care about and connecting with others that have the same ideals.

Diverse participation & trust: We aim to have global participation from organizations and individuals with a wide range of backgrounds and lived experiences. We're committed to working in a decentralized way with transparency as an essential value. Our engagement with organizations and individuals is consultative; we embrace bottom-up innovations and initiatives.

Open source: Values Network is developed with a commitment to being open source technology enabling impact. Software and specifications will always be maintained with open public licenses, living on GitHub.
